Welcome to the official website of the Phoenix Tenants Union. We are a volunteer-run member-led community organization based in Phoenix, AZ. Renters make up approximately 45% of our population, or 715,048 people, according to 2017 data. By joining together, we can create power to demand housing reform that protects us, and not landlords.

Phoenix, AZ has seen a significant increase in rental prices over the last several years, as developers build larger and larger apartment complexes across the city, destroying our desert ecosystem in the process. It's time we as tenants, stand up for ourselves.

The current COVID-19 pandemic has created a housing crisis throughout the United States. In Phoenix, the story is no different. Hundreds of thousands have lost their jobs, but are still expected to pay rent. The laws in place do little to protect us, and the media is taking orders from landlord associations to tell us to pay our rent despite it all.

If you have been personally affected, please write us a message and share your experience with us. We will do our best to respond as quickly as possible, and help you organize during this difficult time.

If you have not been affected, but perhaps know someone who has, please share our website information with them and invite them to join our union.
